Why did you decided to join TriColumbus Triathlon Club?
  • To meet other triathletes and have someone pushing me to train a little harder.
  • I joined for the challenging practices and to push myself more than I would on my own.  And to get support from other triathletes too.
  • Competing in an Olympic distance triathlon was on my 'before I turn 50 bucketlist' - and with the help of Tri Columbus, I DID IT!
  • I was bored of training alone, and I didn't really know what I was doing.... now I am in my third year!
  • I love the spirit of the club to give back through participation and volunteering to support local triathlons and organizers who are the foundation of the sport.
  • The word "iron" is not part of the vernacular. Other clubs I have belong to push members to do half and ironman distances races. TriColumbus allows me to be me!

Why do you return to TriColumbus year after year?
  • Great training, great friendships, great coaches!
  • I'll be returning for my second year to see how much I can improve on my times from last year.
  • If I can do one tri, then I can do more!
  • This will be my fourth year, I keep coming back because it is entertaining and training doesn't seem like a chore when you are with fun people! The Coaches have great insight and I never feel like I have to do a workout alone.

​What is your favorite thing about TriColumbus?
  • TriColumbus keeps me accountable to my training schedule... they push me more than I would on my own.  I love the social interactions as well.
  • Very welcoming and encouraging to all. 
  • I love my training buddies!
  • My clubmates are committed to training, but like to have a good time as well.
  • TriColumbus approach focuses on the working professional or busy parent who loves the sport of triathlon but only has a few hours a week to train. Allowing my little ones to be involved has been helpful.
  • Coach-led group workouts are the best!
How did you benefit from TriColumbus? 
  • I have been able to have a healthy pregnancy and control my weight. Hopefully it will help me to return to my normal weight after my son is born.  
  • I am not on an island of one trying to figure out my race schedule or training plan. TriColumbus has provided me a plethora of information and helped me join the multi-sport community that I would not have had access to otherwise.
  • I only race sprint and Olympic triathlons and the club is focused on those of us that only races those distances. TriColumbus has helped me improve my times to even finish in the top of my age group this past year!
  • I love triathlon, am a mother of 3, have a limited schedule to train and race, and so only  I'm only able to race 1-2 sprint triathlons per year. Other clubs I have belonged to their group swims and rides are mainly for members training for 70.3 Ironman and Ironman races. That's not for me so TriColumbus has been perfect for me. 
  • I am a physician with limited time to train so the TriColumbus coaches worked with me on developing a flexible and manageable schedule to help me complete the TriFit Challenge this year!
  • As a CEO of a 2,000 person organization in Central Ohio I have a vested interest in the health and welfare of our employees. TriColumbus coaches and club members led several lunch-n-learns and even an employee training to excite and engage the employees in triathlon.
